Hugo (SCHUETZE) and Alice Amelia HUDSON nee FEAST

Hugo, eldest son of Gottlieb Wilhelm and Mary Ann Schuetze nee Hudson was born at Mannum on 4 January 1881. He married Alice Amelia Feast of Port MacDonnell, South Australia at Baptist Church, Adelaide in 1908.
This family lived most of their married life at 37 George Street, Hawthorn, Adelaide; they had four children. Their eldest son Allan Hugo died at the tender age of 3, Maxwell Gordon, the 2nd eldest son was born on 7 January 1913 and married Gertrude Edwards in 1941. A third son Roland Hugh was born and died in 1916. Twin girls Margaret and Elizabeth who were born 11 July 1917, married the Blake brothers (Ken and Stan) from Victoria in 1940.
Hugo was a commercial traveller for a long period of time then opened his own clothing business, which floundered during the war years 1914-18. He later bought a furniture manufacturing business in North Adelaide and was still operating it when he died on 19 May 1943. He is buried in Mitcham Cemetery, South Australia. His widow Alice Hudson (family name Schuetze changed during war years to Hudson) pre-deceased him on 15 April 1939.
